Party in the Town is an annual celebration for the community to come together and participate in a day of music, food and fun in Totnes.
It’s a free event, with the exception of our fabulous headline act, Noisettes – and there’s something for all ages. Activities start from 2pm with a singing class for under 5s, and there will be craft workshops and things to look out for on the high street all afternoon.
A jam-packed evening of concerts kicks off at 6pm with a performance by local school children who have been working with the incredible Brazilian percussionist and composer Adriano Adewale. Over 50 local acts will then join the party – from singer songwriters to samba bands with jazz and poetry in between. Check out the lineup to see what’s on and plan your night out.
The team behind local festival Sea Change is taking charge of The Barrel House and programming a couple of acts alongside Party in the Town to give a flavour for what is coming in the summer – and the curators of Dartington’s After Dark series are back with an evening of acts from Dartington College alumni.
Other venues include The Bay Horse, The Bull Inn, Devon Harp Centre, St Mary’s Church, The Royal Seven Stars, The Dartmouth Inn and unexpected performances, parades and explosive moments on the High Street.
We even have our own beer being created and brewed for the occasion by our friends at New Lion Brewery in Totnes
